I too just got an email today about new news about the BG-12 pill. Hmm...more to think about, I guess.

Thank you so much for reposting this article. No, I hadn't seen it, and was not emailed it. The April colloquial sounds like a wonderful opportunity for our neuro's to learn about what the latest research is presenting itself. I even wish I could go and listen.

I'm suppose to be working towards this medication, if and when it is approved by the FDA, so thank you very much for fixing this linking issue. Please keep all news you read forthcoming on BG-12 please!

My boyfriend is currently involved in the BG-12 research trial. If you have any questions about the medication I do have a little bit of knowledge and some experience with the effects and side effects.

I have been getting a lot of questions about BG-12 so here is some of what I know.

I am not sure of the exact dosage as my boyfriend is involved in the research trial but he is on the medication and not the placebo.

The only side effects that he has experienced is flushing and gastrointestinal urgency. Neither one of these side effects is constant. They happen sometimes but not all the time. He has not had a relapse since he has been on this drug. This drug does not improve the symptoms you have. This drug is supposed to stop progression of MS symptoms.

If anyone has any more questions please don't hesitate. I will do the best I can to help.

How long has he been on the drug? It is a daily pill, right? How often is he being followed?

Can you explain GI urgency - like diarrhea (I know gross) but anyone here knows I am the queen of constipation and poop is one of my favorite topics - sorry). That I think I could deal with. I like the no fatal side effect profile of the drug and how it is processed in the body. I would gladly give up my Copaxone for 3 a day or even 2 a day pills (Thank God for phone reminders). So happy for your guy! I know the NDA was filed a few weeks ago and now they are fast tracking it through the FDA so here's hoping. Thank you so much for the info!

Marine8914, what stage of ms is your boyfriend in? what are his symptoms and how long has he been diagnosed? Thanks for sharing these info, I just want to see if BG12 is supposed to help advanced cases or newly diagnosed as well?
