" Your status message says..

"wishing I was not here. I want to go to heaven now"

Is this urgent?...Is there a crisis phone number you can call in your area? Or can you call you doc for an appointment tomorrow? Is there someone with you now?

I think you can call 2-1-1, that's the help hotline the United Way set up to provide information to people, in their area. I volunteered on it when they were setting it up in my area, finding phone numbers. There would be an operator to answer to tell you a suicide help phone number.

We are the same age by the way. I think I have had it for 24 years, but only diagnosed for 5 year. 24 years ago I had ON, an ophthalmologist told me this could be MS, the MRI's didn't exist, neither did the internet. So I never looked it up to find out what I might have. I lived in 5 states. Nobody figured out the weird stuff that happened was MS. Until 19 years later. My balance was bad,the right side of my body wasn't working right, I was slurring my speech, urine ran out of me periodically, sometimes I didn't even feel it when it happened.

Went to a walk in clinic, they sent me to ER at ER they said it was stroke or MS, ran a CT & MRI and told me within 2 hours it was MS, without a doubt, and I had had MS for a long time
based upon the MRI.

4 years of betaseron & 1 year of Tysabri. MS isn't normally fatal, it rarely is a person just has to learn to live with it or around it. Not always the life they wanted, they make do with the life they have.

What's your story & are you alone is there someone you could call?

Its one day at a time except when it becomes one minute at a time. All of us have those times. Keep talking to us and you'll get through this time. A positive sign that you will make it, is you reached out.

Lynn "

" Tricia, I admire your strength for the last 20 years! I'm 25 and was diagnosed almost two years ago... I often catch myself wondering where I'll be 20 years after my diagnosis and when I get real with myself I realize it scares me a bit. YOU are the type of women I look to as an example of strength and endurance. Of course MS sucks, but I want you to know that I appreciate you and look up to you. Please lean on this support group if you need it. We all are entitled to our down days, but what's important is that you rely on us to help lift you up.

I don't know if you're a religious person or not - regardless, please know that I'll keep you in my prayers. :-) "

" Tricia---I know doesn't this crap just suck! I was dx'd in May of 1991. Which makes this 18 yrs for me and I am 38 yrs old. There are days I want to give up but then I think what I will miss with my life. My daughter wouldn't have her mom, my husband wouldn't have a crabby wife, my sis would not have a sis, and so on....So I know I can't give in to this even though it is hard to be positive even 50% of the time. Hang on about 15+ more years who knows what will be out by then for us. Just come back here and crab to all of us, it makes us all feel good that we are not alone. Sometimes, don't ya wanna just punch someone when they jog by your house? haha "
