I was dx w/ Fibromyalgia a couple years ago and am now on the search to find out if this is really what I have. I have read a few overviews for MS and none of them seem to fit me, but lately when I describe my symptoms to ppl they keep bring up MS. I was wondering if anyone would share there personal symptoms with me, I thought maybe that might help? Thanks

" MS is a designer disease, tailored to fit each one of us a bit different. No two patients are the same.

Have you talked to your doctor about it? What besides what others say to you makes you think it could be MS? "

" I have the same situation. I have been diagnosed with FM. I have also tested positive with SLE and ANA test. My doctor has not changed my diagnosis. Although i wonder if any of the medications for either would help me feel better. My husband thinks FM is just a "pre" diagnosis to MS. "

" An specialist in MS (Neurologist) upon examining me and looking at LPs, MRI suggested that I did not appear to have MS but perhaps Fibromyalgia. So I went to see a rhumatologist as they specialize in FM. She claimed upon examining me, that I did not have FM but 'let's do another MRI'. Geesh. After all was said and done, and saw another neuro, it was determined that I did indeed have a slowly progressing MS. It is difficult to diagnose MS as we are all have different stories to tell.
I have tingling fingers, toes, a girdling sensation in my chest area, heavy legs feeling (like I am going to trip)and some pain at times in my back. I tire easily but try to keep plugging until I know I need to rest. My advice is to see another specialist in both fields. I've seen several in my MS lifetime. "
