Neuro gave me a sample of Provigil to boost energy level and offset fatigue. I am not big on taking meds. I need the input of those with experience with Provigil. Especially its side effects, do the pros offset the cons? Thanks and have a great day.

" I've been on it for a couple of years, and haven't experienced any side effects.
And about 6 months ago, we increased my dosage to 2 per day. I had told my neurologist that I was still having a lot of trouble with fatigue, and he offered a prescription for an amphetamine. But I asked if I could just increase the Provigil to 2 a day instead, and keep his idea lined up as a last resort. So he agreed.
Even with taking two Provigil each morning, I haven't experienced any side effects.
Sadly though, I can take them and be ready for a nap in about an hour...lol. So I am not sure they are really doing anything for me anymore. I am tempted to call the doc back and go with his idea.
Take care...Kay "

" I highly recommend. I've used it on days that I am just too tired, fatigued, drained to do anything and it really helps. I have to cut the pill in 1/2. I think it's 200mg, so I do 100mg (and it still gets me going). I do only use it as a last resort. I refuse to take it on a regular basis. So, as needed. Good luck! Hope it helps. "

" I have tried taking Provigil on two separate occasions. Unfortunately for me, it seemed to speed up and intensify my other symptoms. I was more alert but my spasms and pain level increased. "

" My doctor put me on this a while ago. I was not too happy with it, because while it kept me wide awake all day, I was still exhausted. Then the drug keeping me awake, I could not nap. So, I quit taking it. But everyone reacts differently. "

" I've been taking 100 mg. of provigil..Just recently it was upped to 200 mg/day. I take them in the morning and it works very well. I've had no side effects.

Yes, the military does take it to stay awake due to their sometime unpredictable hours. "
