Had my survey done and I got the report back. It show questionable radiolucency in my pelvic area. Go to see the Dr. on the 10th anxious about what we will do if anything. Doesn't this change my staging now? First areas I have had. Will they start me on biophosphinates?

" That is a likely outcome, but for now make sure you take a calcium and vitamin D supplement. "

" I am taking 2000 of D and 1500 of calcium. Already was a little low on D. I have heard bad stories about biophos. "

" You will hear bad stories about every drug, it's called informed consent.

Trust me the downsides of skeletal collapse far outweigh the downsides of bisphosphonates.

Before you begin any bisphosphonate get any dental work that may be invasive completed. "

" Hi Achankins, my understanding is the biophosphinates are important for keeping the bones strong. Ken does Zometa monthly and only felt ill the first dose, with flu like symptoms. If it can help avoid Ken having another kyphoplasties on his spine it will be worth it, I think.

Hope all goes well for you.

Kris "
