Myeloma count down!

Ken has just finished his 2nd round of Chemo and we had an appointment with the oncologist. He said that Ken's myeloma cells dropped from the initial 3900 to 1500 which is in the normal range. Yay!!

He is still doing quite well, tired at times and has that cough that comes and goes but his blood work (done twice a week when he goes in for the subcutaneous Velcade) all look pretty good, on the low side but not dangerously so.

Next week he will start his 3rd round, so another dose of Zometa will start the round. All is good and we are looking forward to a positive outcome of all of this.

Best wishes to all.

" I have noticed that some of you give your protein levels in a decimal form and some in a whole number. Does anyone know how to take a whole number and turn it into a decimal? It very confusing for me when I read some of these. My last IgA count was 1130. That is still high, but going down. I was told by my doctor the normal range is 250 to 500, which I was at at once and stopped the Dex due to side effects. I have been stable for a few months now in the 1100 range. Why do some of you give a decimal? Thanks "
