After 8 months of constant going back and forth to doctor's and being told that I was fine. I was finally diagnosed today with having multiple myeloma. It took a long time but I feel better just knowing that I am not crazy n I knew that something was wrong with me. From pains to other symptoms including depression and anxiety. I also think that I have an overgrowth of candida. Is it okay to take probiotics with this cancer? Am I more susceptible to catching other infections and cancers because I smoke?

So now you are in a fight for your life , have you begun treatment yet?
The smoking will provide no benefit, the probiotics will cause no harm at the moment but may cause serious damage during the neutropenia caused by chemo or advanced myeloma.

No I have not started any type of treatment. I only thought that I had a systemic candida infection which is where the probiotics came in to play. I want to take the probiotics for the sake of gaining some healthy bacteria in my system, so to speak. I took a few pills today...but now I am kind of worried...
Serious damage to what? What is neutropenia? Please excuse me if I sound clueless, I just really have no idea what I am dealing with...I just know "cancer" which scares the crap out of me.
