I am worried it's back . I can't talk to my family about it,it 's to real. They live far away.the pain is back. The doctors told me there was a chance it would come back but it shouldn't.With the things I have read it sounds as though it is more likely to come back in most people.I am confused. Is anyone out there?

" How long have you had MM? Surely you know that MM is a 'terminal' not a 'chronic' disease just yet, and CR usually just means that your results are holding stable at that moment -- not that the MM has completely gone -- which unfortunatey means that it will rear its ugly head again. What we hope for is that it will take a long time between episodes of relapse! As isabel has told you, you must know the facts before you drive yourself crazy. Once you really know what is happening with your blood work and x-rays/MRI then you will be able to start making decisions about how you are going to attack it this time! And attack it you must -- fortunately there are LOTS of great treatments now available -- its just a matter of finding the right one for you AT THIS TIME. Don't give up, don't panic, be positive and hopeful and look at ALL your options. You CAN do it -- you are young and strong and have so much to live for -- don't waste it. Fortunately there are plenty of things to kill the pain -- have you tried Fentanyl patches?? Its one of the best for MM and I've found them very effective!! Good luck - hang in there and be positive. Cheers, Cath "

" At this time all therapies for MM inevitably fail, that is why you have to be monitored and as your serum proteins in your bloodstream rise and the number of myeloma cell in your marrow increase shift to different drugs and treatments.
To live with this disease you must be a warrior and the first battle for any warrior is the fear in his own heart.
Unless you have given up and are prepared to die with your head burried in the sand and a heart overcome with fear of the unknown go and get tested and consult with a skilled oncologist/hematologist, the results may be scary but you will be dealing with fear and anxiety of something known and these fears are far smaller. Plus that very action will mean you have entered the fight as a warrior. With cancer fighting IS winning. "

" I understand exactly how you are feeling. I have found though that my faith in God makes all the difference. I say lots of prayers and somehow God brings me through scary things I never thought I could possibly face. You can fight this with His help. "
