Re: MS really out of control

Hello All,
It's been a while since I've been on this site. I recently got a new contract job 2 months ago. Due to the stress of a new job, working 55 hours a week, and taking care of small girls, my symptoms started getting out of control. Lots of tremours, imbalance, blurred vision.

I do not have medical insurance and my husband is still laid off. I got a three day dose of solumedoral and am on predisone last week. I started to show some signs of improvement. Two days ago I thought I would relieve some stress by working out. I felt great that day however everything changed that evening. While reading a book to my 4 yr old daughter, my speech started to slurr and I couldn't speak. My facial muscles have been involuntarily really making me look and feel very odd for the last two days.

I have a Dr's appt with my Neuro tomorrow. I haven't been officially diagnosed with MS. Basically I am inbetween diagnosis but know I have MS. I havne't had an MRI for 1 yr and a half due to lack of insurance. I have decided to pay for it on my own. I am not sure what else my Neuro should do.

It is scary because everyone keeps telling me to take it easy. how can I do this when I have a new job, the only bread winner, and 2 small children? My husband is doing everything he can do start his own business and help me with the kids and household chores.

My new co-workers know that something is wrong with me. I don't plan on admitting to MS because I don't want to be treated differently.

I guess I am just venting right now and am willing to some advise if anyone has any.

Take care and thanks for reading my story.

Hanna

" I know exactly how you feel - most recent relapse was when I was working my butt off at work (80 hour work weeks) - it's a constant struggle to balance life and this awful disease "

" thanks for empathizing.. Wow.. 80 hour work weeks? This makes my 55 hour work week pale in comparison.. i just got my MRI results. 4 lesions and 2 plaques. the one on the right is getting worse. having very unusual muscular movements in my face and entire body. My neuro has referred me to another Nuerologist for a 2nd opinion.

take care "
