Has anyone heard anything at all regarding a treatment in pill form?
My dr stated to me twice now that there's a pill being tested that should be ready for first use in a year or so.
I'm not sure the name, so if anyone knows please do tell.
It would sure beat taking these damn shots lol.

" Yep. It is called Clabridine and should be ready to go to market first quarter 2010. It was used primarily as a chemo drug for hairy cell leukemia and carries with it the same side effects when being used for MS BUT it is taken one or two weeks per YEAR with monitoring by your MD (metabolized through the liver and can cause white cell destruction) but it is really looking promising. It has passed the trials with minimal problems but the 10 year studies are NOT in (stable of the industry). It is from E-Merck (euro) and is in the NDA (2nd process) at the FDA. So, fingers crossed and GOOD doctor in hand it should be a good modality. Now they have to do costs - could be extremely pricey and insurance companies have to sign off on it. There is also a drug which aids in walking called fampridine which went to the FDA and was sent back on a technicality (they didn't like the formatting?) so there is a possibility. there are also 2 more drugs in the pipeline - one from Teva (maker of Copaxone) and one from Isis (anti-sense technology) both looking VERY promising and being fast tracked by the FDA. So keep the faith and keep doing what you are doing as you seem to have a great hold on this thing. Me, I have been diagnosed for 8 years, have a career path in big Pharma and lots of connections looking for modalities for me (my expertise lies in oncology though)but I am hopeful. As Obama says "Yes we Can". If you have a chance look up Clabridine on the net and you can get a better idea of how it works and why or why it may not be the drug of choice. Good for you not having side effects from Rebif! Best to you. "
