MY NOTE: It starts to get confusing here and is the way it will be as competition on these new drugs becomes more intense.

I read the first part of this and it said that 80-83% of people were Relapse Free in Phase III trial compared to 69% on Avonnex.

I quickly read that as reduction in relapse rate....and an 80% reduction in relapse rate is something to get excited about. Later in the article I read in Dec they had reported a 52% reduction in annual relapse rate....which is in line with the new drugs that are coming out.

Still something to get excited about compared to standard meds now, but II think we will need to be careful how we read the drug announcements as they all try to get the lead position. It's nice to have these options and decisions available to us :)

the % of people relapse free is a different statistic than reduction in relapses.

Regulatory filings for the drug would be submitted in 2009.
