Gripes and Gratitude’s

For every gripe you have I hope that you give us an example of the gratitude’s you have.

I hope this will work. I know we all have gripes in life but we also have a lot of nice things that happen and a lot of nice carring people do a lot of nice things for us and we should do nice things for others.

The other day I was driving home. I saw a man with one leg walking with crutches on the side of this very busy high way type street. He seems to be struggling. It was a very hot day in Texas. I was in no hurry and though I should ask him if he needs a ride. So pulled over and stop ask him if he would like a ride. He smiled and said I sure would. I am a fun person so, as he was getting into my car I ask where are you headed, California?? He laughs andsaid oh I wish I was but no chance of that. I ask him well, where you are going? Your wish is my command. He said and pointed RIGHT THERE. We had moved maybe 50 feet. LOL and we were now in a driveway of a small strip shopping center. And about 100 more feet up the drive way was a sports bar.
I asks, right there is where you going? He says yes. I am going to get some smokes. I joke with him and said ,haven’t you heard those things will kill you?
He said he had been smoking for 40 years. I could tell his missing leg was not his only problem he had. He did not have any teeth and he did not have good control of his movements, similar to a victim of Cerebral Palsy. He also had very dark sun glasses on. Now I have a lot of different handicapped people in my family so I am not afraid to ask questions. And I ask in a cheerful nice way. I first tell of all my families problems and mine and then ask him how did you looses you leg. He said Stump grinder. I said OUCH !! You should stay way from those things! He laughed and said you bet I will now. He told me he had been blind for a long while because of cataracts but he had just had one eye fixed and now he could see. I told him, man you are lucky! Now you can see what a beautiful woman I am. He laughed and I teased him about laughing at my beauty.
I ask him, I’m pretty good looking for an old lady, don’t you think? Again he laughed and smiled. He told me he had just got his teeth all pulled out and was getting false teeth next week. I said I will have to take you out to eat I guess. He smile and said he would love that. This man was very poor. He told me he had a knot on his head. I ask, how did you get that? He said, Oh, I fall a lot. I said you are just falling a part on my dude. He cracked up laughing. We really had a good time in the short time that I was driving him home which was just around the corner from where I had picked him up. He had a good day and I did too. It makes me feel good to do random acts of kindness and I made a friend and helped him all at the same time. He was grateful and I was also. I plan on have more grate days. I drove up to his very humble abode. (A very old, very small ,camping trailer) And I thought with all the problems I think I have. I have none compared to this man who smiles and laughs like he dose not have a problem in the world. What a delightful man. Never once did he complain or gripe about his situation. If we could all learn from him, what a great world this would be.

Please add your tales of Gratitude.
