How many of you have some pet peeves you want to air?

Mine is rude cashiers, clerks, tellers ect. I hate when I go into a store and buy quite a bit of merchandise and then do not get any "thank you" or anything. What happened to the days when courtesy was expected and shown in places of business? People are so rude now days it seems.

What are your pet peeves?

" rude cashiers are among the top. my all time favorite conversation with them after they are rude..

i say "i think you should quit this job because you clearly do not like it and do it badly." "why don't you try doing something else badly."

and, yes, i say it more than a few times. you may use it if you like.

" People honking their car horn at me at a red light. well i guess it is a green ligh but it just turned green. What is their hurry???

I do not like to go out to eat with people that cause a big ruckus and complain about the service or the time it take s to get their food.
I get so mad at people who jump infront of you when you are ready to check out at a store .

Getting my order correct at a fast food place . I repeat it several times and it is till wrong. Listen up you clowns. I am going to say this one time and you better listen. get it right this time!

Do not say you are going to call me right back and then don't call "

" One of something that scans for the price of a six-pack or case, and the cashier is not sure the price is wrong. Parents who think it's cute to let their children order in restaurants. People who look at my outstreched hand and drop the money on the counter. People who discuss their entire lives on cell phones. People who think that "Huh" is an appropriate response when giving service. "

" Can't stand those rude people taht look at me like I'm drunk. The worst is to police that was trying to ticket me for being drunk while walking. I laughed at him then but cried like a baby when I got home. "

" People who say one thing but do or mean another!

Also people who park on the wrong side of the street.

I guess I could just say people in general as well! "

" i carry mail for a living... so i don't like it when my sub doesn't pay attention while sorting and misdelivers mail that i have to pick up the next day. i don't want my customers to think that it's me making mistakes. most of my customers are wonderful, but the biggest peeve i have is when something is misdelivered and someone actually WRITES on someone else's mail "Wrong address" or "Doesn't live here" - don't write on other peoples mail for goodness sake! one look at the piece will show me that it doesn't belong there... if you feel the need to scribble, put it on a post-it note... another peeve is when someone places outgoing mail far back in the box - i don't have 5' arms and it is increasingly difficult to hang out of my vehicle to try to reach it - also, please have stamps on hand, you can buy them from me, but it's so much easier to just get a book and not have all kinds of change taped to your letters, at least most folks attach a note saying something like stamps please and thanks...it means breaking up a complete book and potentially not being able to fill an order for someone else. i'm on a bit of a tight schedule - do i actually have a minute or two to put stamps on your stuff? probably, if it's just one or two people, but on saturdays, when the office is closed when i return and i cannot buy more stamps, i tend to run out of stock quickly if say 20-30 customers leave 1-5 letters all without stamps... on a route with 600 customers, that is a common saturday occurance and i can't always afford to buy extra stamp stock in advance...
outside of those work peeves, the only other thing that really stresses me is loud noises, makes me very jumpy. i'm learning new ways to handle stress these days, not always easy, but i've got to - can't go thru life always irritated... but my fav is now under my status - handle stress like a puppy, if you can't play with it or eat it, just pee on it and walk away. " Let's see:

I'm a project manager, so people who take action, make decisions or change the status of a project without thinking to let me know

People who tell me off for doing things that bug them, yet they do the same things themselves (hubby, I'm looking at you for that one)

People with short tempers. Life is really not worth the stress. Accept that some people are morons and avoid them if you can't be in the same room without complaining about it

Bitchiness

People who don't pull their weight and fulfil their share of their commitments

People who don't clear up after themselves when they spill milk or coffee on the counter, especially in the work kitchen - wipe up your own damn mess

Rude cashiers don't really feature on my list. If they're that bad at such a simple job, they're too stupid to be worth my energy getting annoyed "

" Motorcycles! At least, the noisy ones that startle me awake and whatnot. Thankfully they are mostly gone for the year.

Adults who ride their bikes on the sidewalk! Especially when there are bike lanes on major city roads. And now that I think about it, cyclists in general who feel they can get the best of both pedestrian and automotive rules (ie., always have the right of way and bomb through T-intersections without looking, but demand to be respected as automobiles).

People who hang onto their transit seats when faced with old or disabled people, people with a ton of bags, etc. They won't even make eye contact, either, because they know they're being selfish. Barring the worst MS symptom days, I at least offer to give up my seat if possible, and often my offer is declined with thanks and a smile.

Rude cashiers of course -- my favourite thing to say, after being very pleasant back to them, is "thanks, Sunshine". It usually seems to make them feel ashamed. :)
