I have 4 dogs:
Catahoula Leopard 18yrs old female named Grace Australian Shepherd 13yrs old male named O.T.(overtime) Lhasapoo LhasoApso and Poodle mix 2yrs old female Hnamed Hope Puggle Pug and Beagle mix 9weeks male named Hunter 1 cat stray unknown age named Christopher Does anyone have any hints as to how to train the pup to stop the barking? We have one cat...his name is Bootsie, well the kids named him Puss in Boots but thought that was a bit long so my 3 year old changed it to Bootsie! He no longer lives with us, had to give him to my mom; husband was too allergic! But the kids still say he is theirs ;)

I have:
A 16 year old fawn Pug named Jimmy. An almost 1 year old black Pug named Artie. 2 black cats..the mama cat is Steve, her son is Turbo. 2 Geckos named Lil' Gino and Lil' Lisa. About the Puggle barking..Artie is a barker too. It makes me a little nuts. I've tried the squirt bottle, he loves it. He runs towards it with his mouth open making the most ungodly noises..trying to catch every squirt. I've found a can filled with pennies is effective sometimes. When he starts barking, I shake it and startle him, then quickly distract him with something that I can praise him with. But he's so damn cute I just usually give him "kissipline". I'm a bad trainer.

4 year old pitbull: Bruno
8 month old boston terrier/chihuahua: Knuckles Knuckles is the barker...If a hair blows on my arm she barks at it. She barks at the inanimate flowerbead figurines in our backyard. She responds to one thing, and one thing only...pretty much like Jen's method. I snap a belt, which gets her attention and makes her stop. My dog listens to a clothing accessory better than she listens to me...Sad I know.
