I had mono pretty about 5 months ago, and am still extremely fatigued and even nautious on a daily basis and cant carry out normal simple exercises.

Im only 20, and male, and was extremely active before i was diagnosed.

I still have another 2 months before i can see a specialist because they are so booked!

anyone have any experience with a situation like my current one who could give some advice on how to make it a little more barable?

" Hello,

I just joined the group. Don't know how much I can offer but I can tell you I'm in my 6th month... I've read a few article and heard a few people said it takes 6 months but I don't know if it's just what people say (to mean it's long term) or if there is any statistics collected on the recovery period. I couldn't find any on line... My doc said it can take a year, or more!!

I did feel better (slightly, not a lot) in the last few weeks. I noticed better energy levels. To me, my stress level and mindset matter. I feel better over weekends when I can relax. I feel bad on weekdays (Monday is the worst). But then again even before I got sick, even for normal people, Mondays can be stressful.

I waited a few months before I could see a specailist, a neurologist but he had a different diagnosis. He felt I had the Meniere's disease and gave me drugs that made me worse... So, the specialist may or may not be the 'cure'. This is just my experience... yours may not be the same.... "
