I tested positive for mono about 5 years ago. I've always been sickly, but since then, I feel like my lymph nodes/throat tend to take the brunt of every infection.
3 weeks ago I had gastro (stomach flu), then 2 days later developed fevers and strep, and now I'm diagnosed with mono. I've tested positive for EBV before so we know I've been exposed. But I've got remaining lymph node swelling, fatigue, lack of appetite, and an enlarged painful spleen. It's so very frustrating. I catch everything! Being a nurse, this complicates things because I'm so often so sick I can't work. I take lots of vitamins. I generally eat very well - but I've lost nearly 20lbs now in 3 weeks from not eating due to being sick. I keep my home clean. I really don't know what to do. Does anyone have any advice for such horrible immune system? My lab work is always within normal ranges so there's nothing chronic going on. I'm just so very very frustrated with being sick all the time! And every time I get sick, it triggers my asthma, so it takes me even longer to get better. Any ideas/suggestions/comments are appreciated! Thanks! Posted on 10/19/09, 09:10 pm |
