i had (or thought i had) MC for 2 years. i was spending lots of money on all kinda of stupid treatments... lasers, homeopathics, etc etc.
recently i went to a really good dermatologist and he was confident that i didn't have molluscum - but other dr's thought i did. he believed it to be either folliculitis or keratosis pilaris. i was confident he was wrong - it just always seems like the bumps are spreading on my body in a contagious fashion. but, i have tried everything else so i figured what the hell let's see what he can do. first he treated me for folliculitis which didn't help an ounce. then he treated me for keratonin pilaris. and most of the bumps are all gone 99.9%. i can't believe this nightmare is over. most dr's aren't familiar with KP, but he was because he has it too. he had me use this glytone body lotion (made by genesis pharmaceutical); he said that over the counter amlactin (or something like that) would work fairly well too. then i followed some of the tips for people with KP (KP has to do a lot with dry skin so you don't want to dry the skin out etc.). the treatments i was trying was really aggravating the bumps instead of helping i now see. you might have MC, but it could be this instead - check it out. i suggest you google some pics of Folliculitis and KP, then check out these 2 sites about KP here: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/k... http://www.geocities.com/blueparad...
