Advice:
Writing a soldier

I'd really love to write letters and possibly send care packages to a soldier...but I can't find any addresses. I tried looking up doing the pen pal kind of thing but a lot of those sites you have to subscribe. I don't have a lot of money, but I know how much letters mean to these soldiers. If I did send care packages it would only be every few months but I could send letters every week. I was just wondering if there was anyone that knew of a way that I could find out a soldier's address to write them letters?

" thats a really good question. i was wondering the same thing, for future refrence. my boyfriend is training for the navy right now, and when the time comes and he goes over seas, i would love to write him. we do that now anyway, its a lot more romantic than emails or texting. we call eachother every night, and its going to suck to not have steady contact with him. i understand your concern :) "

" Go online and look up the USO.

They can give you information on UNITs that are forward deployed but they will not give you names or addresses of individuals for safety reasons.

Tell me what the closest city or military base is to you and and can give you the direction contact information.

AND btw, those care packages and letters ARE greatly appreciated. My desk right now is covered in letters from a Kindergarten class and we do get excited like little kids when we get care packages from people like you.

THANK YOU! "

" yes, whiskey is right. there were a lot of times when i got down while deployed (having not gotten any care packages from family or friends). so every little bit helps. i believe the USO will also have a list of things that are "valued" or "wanted". i'll tell you one thing that's easy..... cookies. cookies are like gold over there lol i appreciate you going out of your way to do this for our current fighting men and women :) "

" Theres a free website called adoptaussoldier.org its amazing you get to "adopt" a soldier male and female. You get their email address and other things where you can send them stuff. I still talk to my female soldier shes pretty sweet and you get a soldier pretty quickly :) "
