Maybe call your doc and see if the ER can give you something to abort your migraine rather than just manage it? IV DHE, IV Depakote...

And you might try asking to be admitted for a round of DHE. Some people go for a three day course of 9 injections. It helps stop the cycle.

Used in both a nasal spray (Migranal) and for IV use (DHE 45).

I have some migranal.....works about half the time

A lot of the abortive meds don't work all the time, unfortunately. I had a friend who would use Migranal once and if it didn't work, she'd use it one more time. If it still didn't, she'd know she had to go to the hospital for the ER protocol of DHE, which solved the problem.

I'm actually feeling better today and haven't taken anything,,,hope it lasts

well, the headache came back sunday and still have it...ugh...and talked to ent dr today...sinus ct was negative...back to square one...now i'm really depressed :(

My case was alot like yours. It was a month before they started treating me with anything. Everyday I thought my head was going to explode. I had nothing but 800 mg ibuprofen. I finally got a little releaf from 2 Aleve, and 2 hrs later Exedrin Migrain. Now let me tell you, I was still in pain, but I was able to deal with it. Good luck
