" You really should go to a doctor to describe the pain and make sure you're dealing with migraines.

I went to a neurologist and she told me that you have to be very careful taking ibuprofen. If you take it a lot, you get used to it. Excedrin Migraine sometimes worked with me, but yours sound really severe and you might have to bite the bullet and go to the doctor :/ . It will be worth it if you feel better in the end! And it will be painless.

(Also, I just need to add that you shouldn't be taking the vicodin without being monitored and having your own prescription) "

" I agree, I would suggest going to first your own primary doctor who can prescribe abortive migraine medications and then allow her to suggest a good neurologist for you to go to.

Since you have been getting migraines for so long, you really should have a neurologist in your "back pocket" to help you. "

" I agree with the Ladies above. You NEED to see your doctor and then a Neurologist. Headaches are nothing to play around with.

I know how awful daily headaches are, and there IS treatment (I am walking living proof of that.) It took me years to get good medical care, but in the bad old days, NO ONE wanted to treat headaches properly.

there are LOTS of good doctors who can treat you, you may want to see your PCP at first, but migraine is just to complicated for MOST Primary so you will have to go to a Neuro as soon as you can.

I hope you feel better. "

" I have experienced the flashing lights, the flashing criss cross image, wavy lines and spots. My experiences does not include pain. It includes sensitivity to light and sounds. I usually grab my cell phone and click on notes. Each journal entry had a common response. I was heating chicken (with msg on it) in the microwave. These common responses were in three out of four of my journal entries. I do not recommend carrying a physical journal diary because you never know when you will fell the migraines coming on until it is too late in some cases to run and get it. Usually our cell phones are in reaching distance. I find it extremely helpful to journal a note in your cell phone because it is convenient. I would have never had a clue that heating up chicken in a microwave was related to the migraines I was suffering. "

" Love that response, godsown! I always have paper journals and misplace them, etc. I'm going to get some better use out of my phone now!

I echo everyone else--it took me years, but I finally found a Dr. who helped. It's a wonderful thing! "

" See a doctor now. Having a headache all the time is not normal. You might have migraines or you might have any number of other different conditions ranging from high blood pressure to brain tumors. Chances are it's nothing serious, but you really need to see a doctor now to rule out anything that could be life threatening. "

" When I get migraines like that it is usually because of my neck. I see a chiropractor that does massage therapy as he does the adjustments and it relieves a lot of tension and lessens my headaches. I don't think I could function if I couldn't get adjusted. "

" I believe in massages two. I get two a month per doctor. She would rather it be weekly but just don't have the income to afford that. I do go to a place called Massage Envy, they are membership based, but you get a massage for what you pay in fees, if that makes sense:) i only pay 5 dollars extra. The massages are 39.00 each. which is really good! I have a great therapist who knows my trigger points and knows how to get in there and work them, gently:) Hope you feel better soon. "
