" It's probably a good idea to talk with your doctor about these headaches, even if you do figure out the cause (see suggestions below). Changes in headaches, especially ones that wake you up in the middle of the night, shouldn't be taken lightly.

Did these daily headaches start when you starting taking the anti-depressant or changed the dose or are they completely unrelated? Did you get a new pillow or change how you're sleeping (side to stomach to back; change in position during sleep, especially holding your neck and head in a strange position can cause tension and a headache)? Did you start using a different laundry detergent or fabric softener (being exposed to a different scent, especially some of the very strong ones in some detergents and fabric softeners can trigger a headache)? Are you drinking enough water or have you changed your fluid intake pattern now that the weather is cooler (you still need the same amount of fluids; dehydration is a common cause of a headache)?

Sometimes it helps if you sit down and think of all the activities you do in a day and try to think of what has changed from before you started getting the headaches to after they started. It could be something simple, a change in bedtime or wakening, new medication or OTC preparation, allergies (you can get them in the fall as well as spring), new air fresheners, trying to cut back on caffeine, etc. Hopefully this way you can easily identify what changed and adjust accordingly.

If you do rule everything else out and all that's left is your medication and more fluids don't make a difference, talk with your doctor about changing the time you take it (could help) or taking it in a split dose (less medication at one time may reduce the chance of getting a headache, but you'll still get the full benefit of the medication). Again, please do talk with your doctor in any case, especially because these headaches are waking you up at night. Even if it's the fabric softener or not enough water, headaches shouldn't be waking you up out of a sound sleep.

Good luck and take care. "

" 2 years ago I was getting headaches everyday also and migraines only like once a week. My Neurologist called them cluster migraines and put me on Topamax. That really worked for me, but if you are on an anti-depressant Topamax may not be for you bc it can cause depression. You should probably talk to your doctor about this so he can help find a solution to your problem. "

" I had the daily headaches/migraines also and was put on Topamax. I'm now on 300mg at night and 100mg in the morning but the headaches are all but gone. I've got BP so I'm on other psychoactive meds and I haven't had any problems with med interactions. IMO the Topamax is a lifesaver. "

" Oh, the dreaded headache. They come almost everyday, about 12 migraines a month. I was on anti-depressants, they didn't seem to help much. Everybody is different though. Hope you get some relief soon! "

" I had an issue with this as well. I talked with my doc and she increased my propronolol from 80mg to 160mg and gave me maxalt instead of imitrex. It took a few weeks, but it worked. I would talk to your doc, make an apt asap...this isnt something that should have to wait. "

" I have experienced the flashing lights, the flashing criss cross image, wavy lines and spots. My experiences does not include pain. It includes sensitivity to light and sounds. I usually grab my cell phone and click on notes. Each journal entry had a common response. I was heating chicken (with msg on it) in the microwave. These common responses were in three out of four of my journal entries. I do not recommend carrying a physical journal diary because you never know when you will fell the migraines coming on until it is too late in some cases to run and get it. Usually our cell phones are in reaching distance. I find it extremely helpful to journal a note in your cell phone because it is convenient. I would have never had a clue that heating up chicken in a microwave was related to the migraines I was suffering. "
