Its been my second day with a migraine, I try Imetrex in Inj and didnt work yesturday so I went to the ER and gave me some Dilaudid and Toradol and send me home and still a day later i have the migraine I gave myself my imetrex neddle and didnt work at all so I tried Maxalt and didnt work so im out of option because I can only take Imetrex tomorow now, and dont want to go to the ER again :( Did some of you got hospitalized because of your migraines????

I suffer from daily intractable migraines. I've had one every single day for over 4 months now with absolutely no relief in between. Its horrible. It makes life unbearable at times. I used to only get them 3 or 4 days a week, but that all changed after my back surgery last August. As far as imitrex, I cant give you medical advice, but can tell you i've used as many as 6 doses in a day which you are NOT supposed to do. Now I take zomig, which is a triptan similar to imitrex. You are not supposed to take more than 2 doses in 24 hours and I often take 8 or more. My doctor knows about it. He said it scares him, but he knows how much I suffer. Are you on any migraine preventative like topamax or anything? perhaps that would help.

No im not on any migraine preventative, I didnt get a migraine for 3 months, im so sorry for you having migraine every day it must be hell my god I cant imagine because im on day 3 of a migraine and I cant do anything Im just to sick... and Im not going to take any Imitrex today but dont know what to take :( I think I have to go to the ER again dont like going there but dont have no choice, I dont want to suffer another day, and Imitrex his hard on the heart I think a doc told me and I dont have a neurologist too :(

Yes, all triptans are hard on the heart, but you need some relief. Perhaps you need to go back to the ER and since your migraines are lasting for days, I think its time to get a neurologist. A preventative might work well for you.

I will go to the ER later in the day I dont have anybody hir to drive me and I have a 4 years old son at home and no babysitter for now just later, and I think i will ask to see a neurologist my migraine are different than a year ago, I got that tingling hand and feet and sometimes my face, and just want to faint sometimes, I think its from the pain :(
