Frova

I would like to hear if anyone else has used or is using Frova. I usually use Relpax but my doctor gave me Frova samples. I have taken three so far. Twice I had energy after I got the pain relief. Once, I was very groggy.

Usually with Relpax I have to evaluate my day and see what my plans are. THEN determine if having the migraine or being drugged all day is best.

Typically I just can't bounce back after taking Relpax. I am 2 for 1 with Frova so far.

" I've taken Frova for several years now, in addition to Nortriptylin. I take in at bedtime and first thing in the morning, two days before my period and for about one week following 2xs a day. It does take the migrane away or greatly reduce it. It makes me feel alittle out of it a couple of hours after I take it. So before work I'll cut pill in half and stagger the am doseage by about 2hrs so I can think and work. This med combination is working for me right now. Hope you find some relief. "

" I was taking Frova for a while. I found that the side effects were less severe than other triptans (I've taken Imitrex, Zomig, Frova and Maxalt) After about 9 months though, the Frova stopped working for me, so my doctor switched me to Maxalt, which is working better, but makes me feel stoned in a way the other triptans never did.

My sister has taken Frova for years and it works well for her. She takes it before she goes to bed for the week before her period and that seems to work for her. It wears off too quickly for me to do that though, I need to take it in the morning and struggle through the hour of grogginess. "
