My insurance sucks. So I am not able to even go & buy half of my prescription each month. The doc presrcibes me 1600 mcg. But, my insurance only pays for 1/2 the quantity. I wonder what the pharmacy does with the rest? HAHA... Any advise write me at dfandj9@aol.com

" If they pay for half the quantity, you may be able to speak to the pharmacy about buying the rest of them straight out. Even if it is one or two lollipops a week. I would speak to the manager of the pharmacy. "

" Of course they will sell me the rest. I just don't have the money for it. "

" Have you had your doctor call them to tell them why you need that amount? It won't do anything if you call, of course, but if your doctor's office does and words it right - it can be just like a prior authorization. It is important that when he does that he also tells them what else you have tried for pain relief. Insurances usually have a long list of things they'll have want you to have tried first.

You could also see if you can have your doctor write you the script for the 1600mcg, and then make up the difference with a different script with the 800mcg or 1200mcg. Or, write the number you'll be covered for the Actiq, and see if they can make up the rest with Fentora. "
