" Oh hun I hope this is the one that finally works for you!! I haven't tried Botox because I could never afford it and medicade won't cover it. And as you already know the doctors here are to much of a joke. Most of them won't even offer it as a treatment anyways. Please let me know how it goes if you decide to go for it!! "

" Well, I did the Botox injections on Thursday...I was a little frustrated with the Dr. (I had been to him only once before as my neuro moved away) This new neuro Dr. did not seem to review my history all that well in that the headaches have been dx'd as cervicogenic and he told me he was going to put the Botox only in my forhead and near temples...anyway, I told him why I disagreed with that and that I thought it would be best if he the left side of neck and trapezius near scapula - he agreed, but only wanted to do 50mg instead of 100mg in case I was allergic...I really wish he would have LISTENED to me more - and injected up the back of my head/near occiptial nerve....anyway, no relief as of yet, however I am not going to get discouraged yet as he told me that it could take up to 14 days...so we will see. My neck and shoulder blade certainly feel much better - but the face pain is still there...hoping and praying the Botox kicks in soon?!!! - A question for those of you who have had the injections - about how many do you get in one visit? I think he gave me like 8. Thanks for all of your input!!! Please keep us all updated for those of you who have had progress! :) "

" I hope it works for you and am happy that it appears to have helped others out here. I took injections of Botox for 2 years to try to stop my migraines, however, it never did much to help in that way at all. My insurance would not cover any of the costs, so I finally stopped the treatments, as it just became too expensive for me. I also had a lot of brusing with the shots,.. I didn't care for that, especially on the ones at my forehead. It would take days for the brusing to go away. I later found out that I wasn't suppose to take any aspirin 2 weeks prior to Botox shots. No one had told me that before! The shots aren't bad, as far as pain goes. If you've had children and migraines, Botox injections don't amount to much!!

Topamax has been the best thing in my life , even though I still get 2 migraines a month with that...it's still better than where I was some years ago. Although, I too still would like to find something to still get off of all drugs.

I'm trying to do as much as I can to be as stress free in 2009. Watch the triggers, take more time for massages, apply moist heat to neck/shoulders, use essential oils (someone out here had recommended LavishProducts.com and they have wonderful products!!!). I too think that if you've tried several things out there, and haven't tried Botox, you should- but do remember about the aspirin and the 2 weeks/10 days period of time before getting your shots. Best of luck to you!! "

" The first time I had the Botox injections it took 12 days for it to work. On day 13, I woke up without a Migraine. Each time I get the injections it takes less time to work.

I have 100 units injected into my forehead, scalp, neck, and shoulder. I have never really counted how many shots exactly, but I would have to say at least 15 to 20. "

" I got botox once and it did not work for me. I was disappointed when I realized that it was not working for me. I still have a headache 24/7 for the past 3 years now. Its so frustrating for me. "

" Botox is the answer to my prayers!!! I suffered with migraines for over 20 years, had 2 or 3 h/a weekly but the botox works. I do get occasional migraines even with the botox but usually it is just before it's time for more injections or if I get overly tired. But the h/a are far less often, maybe 1 every 2 months!!! By all means try Botox!!!! "
