Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
I remember trying the drug Migranal (which is actually DHE and I didn't realize that until I read the article below right now) and it didn't work for me because I did not have the type of migraine that it works for. Check the link below for more info:

It seems to work for some, but like everything we try in hopes of a cure, individual results may vary.
You helped me because I learned that what I had taken was DHE. That was new to me!!
My neuro just took me off Namenda (Alzheimer's medication) because off label it's supposed to help. I'm finally coming out of my spaciness and dizziness, although it did help with sleep and depression. Namenda might work for some others as it has very few serious side effects and doesn't seem to interact with other meds.
She now has me taking a Amerge (a triptan) twice a day for 2 weeks to get me off my once a day narcotic painkiller. Gee, can we say Rebound Headache?
But I won't be trying out the DHE anytime soon!
Indomethacin 50mg;
4x day for 5 days
Baclofen 10mg: added to Indomethacin or Anaprox, up to 3x day as needed.
I've had 24/7 headaches for approx. 4 years now with no explanation. They started out gradually and didn't develop into rebounds until the last year when I had my cervical spine replaced. That had the opposite effect of what they intended and I went overnight from having 1-2 migraines per week to 3 per day with no explanation as to why. I've been working with an expert headache Neurologist since the surgery and we've finally made a breakthrough, after two full Botox treatments, steroid injections and bursts, etc. I've also had cervical nerve injections and blocks by a spinal pain specialist since my surgery in January that did not touch my headaches/migraines.
My biggest fear is that eventually the botox won't work or that I will become allergic and then I'm back to having migraines 24/7.
Please let us know how treatment works and new things you try. Because what works for you may be new to someone else and be the miracle that helps them. I so hope that you will find relief from migraines.
