Zomig pills worked for me but only once in a while, but my insurance company won't cover it. Of course. So, now they have a nasal spray? But it doesn't last that long? hmmm, doesn't sound worth it to me, I hate anything up my nose, maybe from being an addict, idk, but nothing goes up my nose anymore!! And if it doesn't work, why can't you take the pills, take too long to work? They do. DAMN WHY CAN'T THEY HAVE SOMETHING THAT WORKS RIGHT AWAY!!!!! Good luck honey!! HUGS!

I didn't know they were making a Zomig nasal spray. The only nasal spray I knew about is Imitrex, which I think is the least effective. I use the Zomig dissolving tablets, which I think work pretty well, but they take longer than Maxalt dissolvables.

I think the goal is to get the spray up into your sinuses, where all the blood vessels are. I think if you tilt your head back, it probably isn't working as efficiently. That's my theory, and I suspect you're going to have to give it some trial and error.

Does the Topamax work for you?

Yes, Zomig has a Nasal Spray but you don't use it daily.. you only use it at onset of a headache. But so far thumbs down on nasal Spray. I will keep trying it though for a couple weeks on the mild ones, and let my Neuro know if the Zomig doesn't work:)
My Neuro states the Nose spray will probably work faster for obvious reasons.. so I am trying it.. but probably not for much longer.
I have to have something for the actual headaches when I get them. Topamax is just a preventative, but never a guarantee.

I am on Topamax and she is in the process of upping dose. currently at 175 mg.
Right now we are still trying to get to the dose of Topamax where we don't need a secondary med HAHA.. if that will ever be possible.

Just did not know if anyone had ever has had success with the Nasal spray. yesterday was day five of a Migraine.. Zomig helped some but it kept coming back, and she doesn't want me taking my Fiorinal.. (understandable) but ended up at the Dr's office yesterday with BAD migraine..
ON a plus note.
Migraines are getting farther apart (the mild & severe) I would like to think it's from the Topamax and the dose increase.

I don't tilt my head back .. then it all go down my throat! yuck!
my Neuro said for meblow nose gently before spraying.. then for me to make sure I lean forward then hold the opposite nostril closed

.. I usually sit with my head forward for a while, because I have never tasted anything more awful than that Zomig. LOL!
Then I proceed to chew some gum afterwards knowing some is gonna end up being swallowed no matter what. LOL. It's not pleasant!

Hi, my names Nicola I live in the UK suffered with horrendous migraines for the past 16 years now, had my first one when I was pregnant with my daughter. I have tried everything including the Zomig and Imigran nasal sprays both equally taste disgusting when they go down the back of the throat so feel for you. I have also tried the Imigran injections. Everything worked for a short while if taken early enough but all the many medications I have taken only ever work for so long!!!! Then I was sent to see a neurologist I complained that the meds no longer worked but he said my migrains had been getting gradually worse so started me on 25mg Topiramate twice daily I am now upto 200mg twice daily and they have just started to creep back in. Been back to the Dr's today and been told that I am taking the max allowed and thinks that the reoccurence is stress related due to work so what happens now? Hope you get sorted with something that works for you :-)

I just emailed my nurse about the Zomig Nasal Spray.. Not sure it's for me.. but it was worth a try. I tried it 3 times in the last 3 weeks. It was a no go.

When you use the Zomig nasal spray, do you also take the pill? Or is it just one or the other?

I took this for the fort time on Wednesday. It seemed to wok fast but I am not sure how fast, within an hour (maybe within 20 minutes). And I did well until 4 hours later and I started to crash. I just got so tired. Next time, I will take a few crackers with it too.
