Advice:
Sumatriptan

I'm a 17 year old female and I've been on sumatriptan 50g, for around a year now. I take it when I feel a migraine coming on. However a few days ago I suffered my worst migraine I have had. I took a pill but around 2 hours later I was knocked unconscious for 15 minutes and my friend had to phone an ambulance for me. So I guess the tablets have stopped working.
What I'd like to know is If anyone else has been on the sumatriptan meds and if they worked for them, and if they didn't what meds they were put on after them triptan as I am finding it hard to cope with this migraine that I have had since my attack 3 days ago.

" I also have Paradex (dextropropoxyphene hydrochloride and paracetamol) along with the Sumatriptan, as it doesn't work for me just on it's own. I have had Suma' for about 5yrs...and it still works the best I have tried out of everything...wish I'd had it all those years ago. "

" Well, I went to see my doctor yesterday and she has but me on Migraleve Pink and co-codamol tablets. I took the Migraleve yesterday, I'm only allowed to take one dose a day, and after a few hours the migraine came back so I had to take the co-codamol. I don't think these meds are very good but I'll give them a chance.
The Migraleve Pink contains:
Paracetamol DC 520 mg
Codeine phosphate 8 mg
Buclizine hydrochloride 6.25 mg
They are supposed to get rid of the pain and the nausea. "

" I've been on Immitrex (Sumatriptan) for about 8yrs, and they always clear my migraines up for at least 12hrs, but the migraines come back after the pill wears off. My migraines usuallly last about 3 days. If I take them for more that 3 days they have a tendancy to rebound on me and keep me in a migraine mode longer. Good luck, I have the 100mg pills, have you tried the stronger pills? "
