Colloidal Silver for MRSA

I've been hearing that colloidal silver kills over 650 kinds of bacteria, and MRSA is one of them. Some take this internally everyday (apaprently you have to do that for years to get your skin to trun blue...), and I've heard that putting it on sores clears them up quickly
http://www.colloidalsilvercuresmrs... Colloidal Silver seems to have the best track record, according to foreign medical sources (but in the US you're not allowed to know that). I've also heard good things about tea tree oil, olive leaf extract, and/or oil of oregano. I can only attest for oregano oil - it felt like MRSA was spreading from one fingernail to another due to the pain under the skin and redness - I put oil of oregano on that spot, rubbed it in, and it went away in a day. Apparently the oil absorbs into the skin easily, displaces water in bacteria - that's how it kills it. I wouldn't recommend putting it on open sores unless diluted with olive oil as it burns! I'm certain as I can be that I just fought off and killed an infection and I used topical oil of oregano, rubbed organic tea tree oil on it, took oral collidial silver, dble dose of allicin garlic, and upped my diet and gone...
I can't say what it was but SOMETHING killed it. I was goin crazy sayin to my hubby "omg, you NEVER saw it get like... SMALLER like that w/out antibiotics, did you?" (answer was no, i kick ass) ;) (im on a high from it now. im looking at the scar tissue now)

I also heard about trying cod liver oil capsules, vitamin C, along with allicin garlic. I recently sent these to my son who has had MRSA outbreaks for over a year and now for a second time it's in his organs (bladder, kidneys). He is also trying the tea tree oil for external outbreaks. He is also cutting out all sugar and gluten from his diet and eating a lot of green veggies, garlic and onions. I wasn't sure about having him use colloidal silver. I hope it works and will let you know....

Yay! Congrats, and thanks for the new light. My sis, just sent me some links yesterday which I was just reviewing as well - glad I have you guys looking out for us :)
http://naturalmedicine.suite101.co... http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/M...#TURMERICREADERFEEDBACK Options of Natural Treatment for MRSA * Olive Leaf Extract: This remedy has proven effective in European hospitals for treating MRSA naturally. Olive leaf extract has been used for centuries as a natural antibiotic and has recently been found to fight the MRSA bacteria effectively. Hungarian hospitals in particular are using olive leaf extract to fight MRSA infection in their patients. * Colloidal Silver: To give you an idea of how effective this is as a possible natural treatment for MRSA, colloidal silver has been shown to kill over six hundred organisms, in comparison to antibiotics which are only effective against six. Also used for centuries, this remedy has been proving to be an effective natural antibiotic since the beginning of time. * Turmeric: This herb contains antibacterial as well as anti-inflammatory properties and has been used to treat boils and other staph infections of the skin, including MRSA, with much success. One thing that you should note is that it is known to cause mild stomach upset for some, so taking it with foods is recommended. Many find it helpful to take with a probiotic yogurt. Doctor today and I asked if there were other kinds of MRSA and he said NO!, but from what I've been reading it seems like there is???? Also, is a decolonization done only once??? Or can it be repeated - I would expect it would be less successful after one time? Hope everyones wonderful and congrats again. I am nearing the end (if it doesn't start bubbling back up that is) of my worst episode and have been rubbing hand sanitizer on it to try to dry them out. Now I have some other things to try.

We are a family with 15 yr old teen, cross infected mom and clean dad. We are taking all the supplements listed in lizajane's post in one form or another, and relying on silver-based products for household disinfection. It has been just under a month that the son was diagnosed.
Silver seems to be the most reliable product to help us get this thing under control. I am not so sure about whether it also kills good bacteria, so we don't take it internally. Details- he has gone from a pre-diagnosis aggressive boil on his elbow this summer (long course of meds, emergency room lancing and packing etc. big divot and scar) down to one active 'skin event' no larger than a single small-to-medium pimple near his collarbone. His acne has cleared, too - although his skin is still not healthy. His body is very clear (Hibiclens showers 3x weekly, tea tree oil shower gel other days). Myself - I got cross-infected through our hand laundry, and also had a tiny spot of poison oak get a secondary infection. I had forgotten to disinfect the basket between my son's and my loads. The only clothes that we either 1) do not wash hot or 2) wash warm or cold but dry in the dryer or 3) not dry in dryer but iron before wearing (ironing kills MRSA too) turns out to be my lingerie. I have rewashed my whole drawer of lingerie and followed with a rinse with colloidal silver, as well as spritzes of colloidal silver in my underwear before dressing. I have a tiny 'pimple' the size of the head of a pin on my inner thigh, and a dot in the crease of my elbow from the poison oak, but both are healing now since I figured out what I was doing wrong. I think that you are on track, Dood, with the fingernails. I think our son is still having issues because he will not keep his hands off his face (!!!), and his fingernails are not clean yet, although the rest of him is. Maybe that is the last frontier for us,,,! :) ?

Wow FR. I'm by no means a teenager but I'm having the same issues with fingernails. I itch and scratch in my sleep and I think nerves have me grabbing at dry skin while I'm watching tv. I stop when I realize it :/ The doctor just gave me a prescription for something to help with the itching hopefully that will help.

I wonder whether 'mixing it up' with other hand washing products and so on would make a difference? We have a bottle of povidone iodine which I washed with last night, it is a scary color but washed away and left my hands VERY clean. It seemed less harsh than Hibiclens and alcohol. Iodine does kill MRSA, my son said he was scrubbed with it at the emergency room when they lanced him this summer. (He was away at a Boy Scout camp at the time, so we were not even there(!) talk about anxiety from a distance...)
I wonder whether gloves would make a difference, or sleeping in a t-shirt to keep cross infection down? It reminds me of the little gloves you can get for infants to prevent scratching during sleep. And, of course, changing out the sheets for a clean slate before the fresh t shirt and the gloves. I have never had to do so much housework in my life. Gaaahhhh! It would be humorous if it weren't somehow also life-threatening, no? It still seems so medieval, boils and all....

Wow. I have to say I called the pharmacist just to see if the colloidal silver was available in prescription form, I was recently taken "off the schedule" when my boils came back on my face full force. No customer service? Imagine that! :/. Anyway, times are tight and anything I can get a script on would be most helpful, so I decided to ask.
The pharmacist said he hadn't even heard the name in years and I told him how it had come about in here and then with my sister sending me links - all expressing success stories. "That's impossible, if herbal supplements work - why did we graduate from them which we used to use to prescription meds?" I told him that I realize antibiotics were a necessity and I wanted to go through with the decolonization using the $400.00 worth of stuff prescribed BUT for times in between then, rather than get MORE resistant to antibiotics I wanted to try that...."no, no, no, blah, blah, blah" - I then realized his job was dependent upon the pharmaceutical company. He did recommend that I call the infectious control department at the hospital which I will do tomorrow for more information. Knowledge is power. also a little off topic, after losing my job, I called down about public assistance. I have not had nor even tried for anything since my kids were small and I divorced their dad. Considering how everything is going, if there is help available I have to try for it right now This was about the smoothest it has ever gone. As soon as I brought up "MRSA" they told me they would MAIL me an application and due to my condition to write on it that I was eligible for a phone interview. FINALLY, something "good" came from my "condition" :/ I have to look at the positive even if it is not waiting in line for hours. FR, thank you for the information. I hadn't heard about the iodine, I am quite new to all this, have just settled in on "me" having it and now the protecting my family aspect has really jumpstarted the more I learn about all of this. I am married to a truck driver and my daughter is starting nursing school in January which is a concern for me now as well.

Colloidal silver is available in a lot of forms at the health food store, not the pharmacy.
There's a suspension in water which is very expensive, that's what I have been using judiciously as a spritz here and there, such as for the tainted laundry, other fabrics, also as a spritz on me where I need to be careful after having all my underwear contaminated (ahem). I've also spritzed a cloth and rubbed down our kitty. It is a suspension of tiny tiny silver particles in ionized water. I think the first poster Lucky Strike takes colloidal silver. We have also been using a silver-based disinfectant spray for hard surfaces - door knobs, kitchen counters, son's computer keyboard, etc. etc. shower stall and tub, too. I've even used it to keep the car disinfected, since I drive my elderly parents around quite a lot, and MRSA would kill my diabetic/kidney challenged/ heart challenged dad. It would be unthinkable if he were to get infected by this... For actual beginning infections and such, we have been using a silver first aid gel (health food store). It is not as expensive as the colloidal silver in water. It has worked really well for ordinary cuts and such. For MRSA, it needs to be applied every few hours at the beginning , but once the color changes from bright red to that faded purple color, just morning and evening is fine. It really works. In the UK, they now make surgical drop cloths, instruments and other items from silver or silver infused material, it is cutting down MRSA and C. diff and VRE in hospitals. In Japan, they are working on a laundry system that using silver to disinfect - both for hospital and home use. It is actually not so good to put silver into the sewage system, though - you can imagine it would kill both bad and good bacteria, algae, fish etc. Toxic. So, I even think about that a little when I use the spritz...
