My friend was dignosed with celluitis and the doctor told her it was staph infection.
She has it in her leg. They are going to put a pic line in whatever that is to help her. she is in the hospital now. She has had Mrsa before and I am wondering if it could be Mrsa instead of Celluitis ? She will be seeing a infectious diease doctor too. Is Celluitis contagous?
I don't live near her however how can I help her?
any suggestions. she lives out of state.
Thank you for your time....blessings...Facing..

" It is good that she is seeing and ID doctor too..Yes it could be MRSA..yet could be cellulitis the only way they will know is doing a culture..The Picc line is to give her medicines thru so they don't have to keep putting an IV in her..

No cellulitis is not contagious but if it is MRSA it is very much so..The best thing you can do is be supportive of her..If it is MRSA people tend to ostricise you...and being in another state doesnt mean you can't be a supportive friend..My best friend lives in another state and supports me well..

If it is MRSA you would have to be so careful if you were there with her..Just keep letting her know she is not alone..Keep in touch thats important..Blessings to you and she is in my prayers! "
