I've been suffering from recurrant MRSA infections for a year now. The skin sores get so big that they need to be lanced and packed to go away. I've tried bactim 4xs already- I've changed primary care Dr.'s- I've been to 3 different ER's. When will someone figure out how to get rid of this! My biggest fear is passing this onto 1 of my young children- sooo scarey!!! I'm sick and very tired and wish someone would help me!

" Hi Mommy with MRSA,
Bactrim worked for my family members. I couldn't take it cuz I'm allergic to sulfa. I have been fighting it for 4 years! I have been on several anti-biotics, 3 specialists and my family doctor. If you are not allergic to sulfa, it may be just a matter of finding out which antibiotic works for you.
They say to not share towels or linens to avoid spreading. There is other advice out there (the www)
I hope this helps,
KatyPaty "

" Hey there! I really really understand your pain. I have had boils since January and am on my fourth one right now. The pain is unbearable, but the thought of giving it to either my son or my unborn child makes this pain feel like nothing. I am awake at night with this fear. I have been to too many dr.s to name at this point and none of them, including a pediatric dermatological specialist from Hopkins said to worry about spreading it. MRSA is everywhere and on everything. I need to change my eating habits as well. I'm just glad there are others who understand what I am going through though I wish to God no one had to ever deal with it. Take care. "

" Hi 3xmom...your story breaks my heart. Since I contracted the MRSA 10/2007 (over 13 similar outbreaks), I have developed an excellent team of medical professionals that understand MRSA and do what is within their ability to keep me healthy--General Practitioner, Infectious Disease Specialists, Immunologist, Rheumatologist, Dermatologist, Gynecologist, and a Respiratory Therapist. You may consider requesting a similar team to help keep the MRSA from aggravating everything possible to ware your immune system down...that is how it wins.

My physicians prescribed me to swab Mupirocin in each nostril every morning since I contracted the MRSA, and I have not had even so much as a cold. Nobody around me has contracted MRSA as the Mupirocin kills germs going in and coming out of my nasal passages. Switch to Tea Tree Oil soaps--supposedly has natural MRSA fighting agents that staff cannot decode.

Try healing touch for spiritual strength, and I have a great nutrition plan that has really been working well if you are interested. Take care and may God strengthen you both physically and mentally to combat this superbug. I'll keep you and your babies in my prayers. "
