" You need to find some help somewhere. Maybe you could try N.A. or the Salvation Army.
Hang in there. I'm rooting for you.
You can do it.

" you have to consider that things are better for you to be using right now. it sounds crazy, but in your mind, you are doing the right thing at the right time. only later do you regret it.

so, you face the difficult task of living for the future..and not for today..not in this moment. you must think of how your decisions today will help or hurt you in the future.

when people do self-destructive things, it is for temporary relief that actually hurts them in the future. that's fine if you don't plan to live much longer, but if you want your life to improve, you must live for the future and do things that help you not "in the now" but in the future.

so, when you get these cravings, you need to distract yourself or do something to fill the need. maybe the only thing that can distract you is to use again. maybe you will need time to slowly back off of it. maybe it's unrealistic for you to just quit and never do it again, but either way, you must improve somehow at some rate.

don't beat yourself up over using again. that will bring you guilt and you will feel like a failure and as though your efforts are in vain. instead, look at the bigger picture: have you improved? how have you improved? isn't it true that you are using less and less? this is progress, and it counts. you can't judge your progress by looking only at the last time you used. look at how often you have used in the last year or so compared to the year before, and such. that will give you a better concept of your overall progress, which is what matters.

don't get caught up in the "look how bad i am, i just used again." that's true, BUT overall you are doing much better. don't give yourself reasons to use again. the truth is you are probably doing better than you realize, which is something to be proud of.

work on incorporating yourself back into the life you used to live before drugs took over. remember what that was like and how to did it...and slowly do what you did before to get that back.

you will do it because you want things to improve. "

" N.A. meetings are always good for showing you that there is hope to change and how to do it. It also allows you to fellowship with other recovering addicts that have been where you are right now. If you dont feel comfortable with the whole meeting scene just yet check out the website: intherooms.com, you will find a lot of support and recovery from others who share the same issues you do. "

" You need the seriousness that only the dying know. You will know you are close to this attitude when you are sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I just hope you live to this point. "
