My son's childhood friend (known since 1988). Both parents died w/in 4 months of each other. The siblings treat him awful and he ran away to my house 4 times. The last time, was to be for 4 months. It's been 1 & 1/2 years and the family has done nothing to help. They hold his trust acct., which I think they have used. The county workers have been of little help. I need help. His family hasn't even called to ask about him. The last time we saw them (June 2008) they yelled at me, accused me of trying to get his trust $, yet I have been supporting him the whole time. He has a job and pays a small amount of rent and helps with the house some... I can't continue to have him live with me. But I won't send him back to his siblings. I want to make sure that his trust fund remains HIS and whatever the siblings have spent, gets given back to him. The county says they have no available homes for people who are high-functioning mentally challenged. I have so many questions that are left unanswered. I'm ready to scream and want these spoiled bratty siblings to step up. Together, we could all make things easier and provide relief for each other. Meanwhile, they get a break from having to deal with this and I'm left holding the bag and he's not even my son. I need help and some relief.
