I will try to keep this short...basically my GF of 30 yrs has a 18 yr old son with "special needs"..she has never talked about his disability or even acknowledged it. shes probably overwhelmed & thinking..if i dont talk about it..i dont have to deal with it. yes, she is in denial.

& this has been so frustrating to me b/c she has been offered alot of help for the boy in the past but has refused. she refused a tutor/time with a big brother/a new way to teach language through music (piano)..extra time with speech therapy/ summer camp/swimming lessons...all of this has been offered FREE.

i feel like she has been holding him back from becoming a better, happier person.
He is a good kid, he has one friend (his neighbour), is very anti-social, his favorite toy is barbies, he cannot read or print his name..he constantly Interupts conversations....this has affected our friendship as well.
I feel bad when they stop by to visit me b/c he is very "touchy feely" he is very rough with my cat, he puts his shoes on my sofa...spills stuff...etc..& his mum says NOTHING .
How do i handle this? do i end our friendship...do i tell her to get her son help (without hurting her feelings)
BTW..she is a single mum, dad is out of the picture.
Thanks 4 listening~
