Just wanted to take the time to introduce myself. I had a hysterectomy a year and half ago. I had Endo real bad and had to have everything removed. I am not doing any type of HRT due to my family history and blod clots. I can say that some days are worse the others. I go from anger to crying in 2 seconds flat. Hot flashes are not so bad but the night sweats and not sleeping very well at night are real isssues for me. I hope to meet a few of you and see how you all deal with these issues.

Hello and welcome to DailyStrength! Glad to have you join us! :-)
I am in perimenopause and have been on and off for 10yrs. BUT, my perimenopause symptoms again full force a year ago this past august. So, I believe it's safe to say that the "symptoms" (all 35 and more) are here to stay for awhile. I have been taking an herb "Lydia Pinkham" for the last 8 and a half months for my symptoms. (Hot flashes, night sweats, sleeplessness, etc. and I also take a prescription "Atenolol" for the constant rapid heart palpitations that I have. (The medication keeps them under control) I drink a warm cup of Celestial "Sleepytime Tea" about an hour before bed and it helps me to relax enough to fall asleep. (I've been drinking the tea nightly for 8 months) Sorry to have rambled on....... Again, welcome to the forum. I wish you much luck with your symptoms. Blessing, Peach34

If I were you I would find a competent gynecologist or endocrinologist to check your hormone levels. I assume that they left an ovary? Good grief, if they think that you can just go into a forced menopausal state with no information or suggestions, they need to THINK of a helpful solution. I am much older and went through (still going through) a 'normal' menopause and started bio-identical progesterone in my late forties. Night sweats, insomnia, hot flashes, you name it...This was my saving grace. I could not do it cold turkey.
Good luck to you, my dear, JK
