Burnt tongue sensation

I read in the "35 Symptoms Of Menopause" that this sensation is a sign.
Does anyone else experience this? It is driving me nuts! My mouth just feels so...odd...and foods don;t taste like they should...smell is also affected and now it is like I detest every cologne that I have!
I suck on Jordan Almonds a lot and hard candy and gum for the mouth issue, but would like to know if there is ANYTHING I can do to change this!

" Hiya. I have had a lot of burning also. It might pay to get it checked out as I was recently diagnosed with a rare mouth disorder which I didnt know I had. I think its good to eliminate all possibilities as its very easy to put many things down to meno. Mouthwashing with salt or baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) might help.Use warm water. "

" I'm new to this site, and I appreciate everyone for their discussions. I didn't have the mouth burning but my gums are burning and receeding badly, and I was told by my periodonist (sp?), that it was probably due to hormones. I had no gum disease. The only advice he gave was to use a soft brush and to stop using all the bleaching, whitening, and harsher toothpastes and mouthwashes, and to use something more milder like Sensodyne. My regular dentist also confirmed this, but had no solutions. "

" I spoke to my GP about the tongue issue and he examined me. I have "glossitis" and have an rx mouth rinse that I have to use 4 x day. I hope it goes away soon.
Just spoke to my endo on the phone. My labs say I am in menopause. Oh great! So we may try some Premarin. He is going to speak to my GP and consult with him first. "

" Hey everyone....I haven't been on ds in forever. I've had the feeling like I burnt my tongue, it comes and goes, as a matter of fact I haven't had it in a while. I also read 34 symptoms of menopause and that was one of them. After reading all they symptoms, it sounds a lot like the bi-polar they just diagnosed me with. I just don't know what is going on with me, I could be crying one minute, fine the next ready to rip someone a new butt hole the next. I really feel like I'm crazy, is there anyone else out there that feels like this....is it menopause? I've given up on these dr.'s they say you have to be your own advocate but when you are, they tell you your a hypocondriac (sp). Thanks for letting me vent!! "

" Hi Just...you JUST got diagnosed as bi-polar now? That seems late in life to be diagnosed.
I found out yesterday that according to my labs, I am in fact in menopause. UGH! It has not been pleasant..mood swings and hot flashes and this tongue thing ( which for me is actually an infection in my mouth)oh and waking up everyday at 3 AM for the last few months.
The doctor wants me to try Premarin for a short period. My friend told me today that it is made out of horse urnie! UGH! NOT sure I want to go back on that ( I was on it years ago but can not recall why!)
My tongue felt better but now feels a little worse today despite this mouthwash (RX) that I use 4 x a day.
For me, I am hoping that some of these symptoms will go away again as they did last year. Getting a reprieve would be nice!
Oh and the 2 weeks before I was supposed to get my cycle ( which never came but the PMS DID) was HORRIBLE for me! I had really bad depression and mood swings..far worse than my normal PMS ( my one endo said it may have been PMDD).
Ah the joys of womanhood! HA! "
