it's strangely a relief to read other posts that mention anxiety, although I have a high stress job I've always been able to manage the stress and keep my chin up pretty well...until perimenopause (I'm 41). now I struggle with anxiety daily - I don't have my former optimism. do doctors recognize this as a menopause side effect? what can be done about it (what works)?

Hi ladies, Boy do I know what you are going through!! I'm 51 and have been dealing with this maddness for almost 10 yrs. I do feel overwhelmed at times. I had two and a half weeks of feeling great no symptoms of anything thought I was getting over the hump, then, bam, here I go again!! For no reason wake up with my heart racing, shaking, cold and hot. After that it gets even better since I have ibs the anxiety flares it up. So far seven days of crazziness. I just keep repeating myself all this is normal. Although, it's very hard sometimes to believe it. I go to curves six times a week, take centrum silver for women and magnesium. It does help, still, crazy times creeps on me from time to time. Let's all hang in there, this also shall pass!!

Everyone is so thoughtful and helpful with suggestions and such, but I will never be able to go through 10+ years of this crap, I will kill myself or someone else. Ihave been in therapy for 3 years since having a stroke 5 years ago, I can't deal with much more of this.
