Hysterectomy

I had to have a emergency hysterectomy at age 31 because I had an ovarian cyst that was rupturing. The problem was that there's a weight gain problem that shows up as a side effect. I've never been able to loss the weight no matter what I do. Apparently others have this also.
Has anyone gone through this? And does anyone have an answer to losing the weight? I'm still looking for an answer.

" hey, scortr, do you still have one functioning ovary? That's the start. If one works, you're fine.

If none, but you're taking hrt, perhaps you need a different hrt until you find one that works with you. In tandem with this --

Have you seen your doc and an endocrinologist about imbalances?

Maybe it's your thyroid. Find good people. Don't go to a doc who says you look OK or are too young for certain problems. Get tested, get answers.

Once all this is cleared up, losing weight is NOT easy LOL! You have to WORK at it, hard, I promise. But if you do so, you will lose the weight. I promise that, too. We all love to eat. But we have to love our health and looks more.

Good luck, YAY!! "

" I haven't actually gained weight since my hysterectomy (I still have my ovaries), but I noticed a distribution shift. It seems to be settling more on my waist and belly now, where I really don't want it. Not sure what we can do about it, except eat less and exercise more. "
