I wore super plus tampons and a night time pad. I thought I would bleed to death. This went on for several months. I would only stay away from home 2 hours at a time. Now, it doesn't last that long but I stay prepared.

I certainly know where you're coming from. I used to be really glad that I wore black pants at work. I used to be terrified if I rode in someone else's car that I would leave bloodstains on the seat. I never really found a solution, but I considered a few times buying adult diapers. I eventually had to have a hysterectomy (because the fibroids had increased the size of my uterus to where it was crowding my other organs) and I wasn't sorry a bit.

I know how you feel I was in the ER yesterday do to heavy bleeding. I stood up got hot and dizzy and seen spots. I thought I was going down for the count. When I got to the ER I was treated like crap like I was supposed to know that this was all normal. No sympathy at all except everyone acted as if I was crazy for calling 911. My symptoms are worse now that I have been bleeding like this. They prescribed me a 5 day low dose of a hormone but I am scared to take it. I have never been good on hormones ie. Birth Control. I suffer from anxiety and depression and it always seem to make it worse.

OMG, I thought it was just me! I have really heavy periods too, and have to use two, end to end, night time pads. I've ALSO considered adult diapers! AND, I suffer from Panic Disorder and GAD like truitalia... wow... sucks to be us, huh? Really crappy the way you got treated at the ER truitalia. What's the matter with people these days?

thanks to all who responded i really appreciate your support, my mom passed away almost 2 years ago, so i have no one to talk to. and its not a topic of conversation that i can bring up to people face to face. it helps to know that im not alone, thanks again,carol

I have one word of relief. ABLATION. check it out online. Works great!!!

OMG ! I thought I was the only one , I was period free for 3 months than I copped a miserable 3 weeks of heavy bleed wearing maternity overnight pads &changing them every 30 minutes, my GP said it's all part of my meno make-up. I do hope you feel better carol10.

I've had the same problem for about 4 months. I couldn't leave the house without worry. The heavy periods would last about 2-3 days, of a one week period. Now I have another problem, I've had three periods in 6 weeks! Every other week, if you can imagine! Has anyone else had this problem? What have you done? I haven't been to the Dr. yet, I was on vacation. (Looking for pads/tampons of the world is NOT FUN! This is now the first thing in my purse/suitcase.)
