Hello. I'm new here and I was wanting to know if anyone is taking Premarin and how well it's working for you? I have read about the side effects but I dont know anyone who is actually taking it. I have really bad night sweats and I'm up all night constantly changing pj's. My hot flashes are horrible. I was on Climara patch but I'm allergic to adhesives. I wanted to at least try it first. I've heard some stories about premarin not being the best you can take. My gyn is talking about another form of treatment for me but for now this is it. Thank you for any help...Staci

Hiya. I am on a different combined HRT called Kliovance so know little about premarin. You will hear stories about HRT in pill form. They all have side effects but that doesnt mean to say you will have them and there are some good things to say about HRT. It can protect you from certain disorders that you become prone to as you get older. It slows the aging process. In my opinion women cant win either way as the menopause its self brings risk factors for declining health due to the lack of the protective estrogen. Quality of life is what its about. Not in 5-10 years when and if this hideous process decides to stop. Its now you need it and HRT has to be a winner as its the only thing that "replaces" the estrogen rather than try to stimulate the bodys own 'declining'levels.

you will hear lots of negatives on premarin, but my mother used it for 25 years and was fine. it solved all her symptoms and did not give her cancer.
