I have been having extremely tender breasts, it lasts for a month, leaves for a week or 2, then comes back again for a month if not longer.
Does anybody else get this ? It feels about the same as when my milk had came in after my children, VERY sensitive to the touch, tender & swollen. Posted on 08/11/08, 04:08 pm |

Absolutely me too. Can't even stand to walk when they are like this. Guess we better enjoy before they all fall down haha.

Oh, yes, all the time. And when they're sore, that's the time my nine-yr-old always chooses to do the running-smack-into-you type of hugs.

Yes yes yes. Not all of the time, like you I seem to cycle. If I just keep my bra on it seems to help!

Phew, ok so I'm not the only 1. My spouse always says "Well who's been grabbing at them to make them so sore".
Even when I had periods, I NEVER got sore breasts, now I do ??? Hurts to even have the shower water hitting them. Strange ! I mean, if it was for a few days, that would be 1 thing, but they get so sore for a month if not more. That tells me, besides all my other symptoms, that there is definitely SOMETHING going on with my hormones. So, do you ladies also have them like this for long periods of time or ?

Mine stayed sore for a week then were ok for a few days but then sore again. Yes, the kids always find a way to run into you during this time and it feels like someone just ripped them right off.

Hi again
I have always had tender breast about 10 days before my period. Now I am going through the menopause, and have no period, I still have the tender breasts, to the point of describing them as sore, just as you described. I find taking a water tablet helpful, as I tend to bloat up on those days before I would usually bleed. Although I do not bleed now, I still go through my cycle and can feel pretty much the same symptoms as I did while bleeding. Cheers for now x

When I was going through menopause, I experienced this. My doc told me to decrease caffeine and that helped me.

I've been getting same, used to be during build up to period, and now for a couple of weeks at a time, then a gap, as I go through menopause. I've found taking Evening Primrose Oil really eases tenderness, I take 3000 ml a day, although recommendation is 1000 ml, but checked with doc and he suggested 3000 ml.

OMG!, yes I went through that when I first started peri-meno changes about 6 years ago.I got to the point where I would sleep in a bra.It was almost constant. But my doc said it was normal for some, others don't have it at all.I did have to have a cyst drained in each breast during that time;(one 2 yrs in a row)But they were clean.
The pain eventually went to only pre- period ( about a full week before)Then one day last year I noticed it doesn't happen much at all anymore-maybe 3 times a year. I took motrin and used a heating pad when I couldn't take it.Wor my bras really tight.I feel your pain.(sorry - couldn't resist the pun!)Try my tricks; see if they help you. And watch your caffeine!
