This morning is a low one for me. Does anyone have any trick to make themselves feel better during a sad or anxious time?

For me, it depends. Sometimes I'm just so low that I need a good cry. Other times, I put on music that I love, or watch a movie that can distract me. Playing with and petting the cats -or any cute, furry creature- helps. Or I call a friend who can first commiserate with me, then distract me with what's going on with her. Oh, and then there's this site, where I've found more love and support than any member of my family (except my husband and daughter).
Oh, and good quality chocolate helps, too.

Hi TMaryE, after anothe lady on the site went to a Reiki practioner, and was raving about it, I thought I would try, and 2 days later I am still smiling, it is all about balancing our energy through meridians and chi (not sure if I've spelt that right), lines, and has been fantasitc at improving your outlook, and mood.
Couldn't recommend it highly enough, give it a try. Big hug Ally

Menopausal women are more susceptible to anxiety due to the fact that their hormones are in a constant state of fluctuation as their body prepares to shut down its ability to reproduce. During this time, many women suffer from depression and high stress levels due to insufficient estrogen. Progesterone, which also depletes during menopause, has been known to have a calming and relaxing effect on the body.
Take time to enjoy yourself and relax. Everyone needs a break. Eat well, avoid crash diets, skipping meals and eating before bed. Drink plenty of water, eat lots of fruits and vegys. Exercise is also a great way to beat the depression or anxiety bug. Sure hope this helps you - Take care, Bobbi

Have you tried St Johns Wart? I'm amazed at how much better I feel now. Very few side effects but I would read up in it first before trying. Good Luck

menopause can be very trying...I'm going through it myself. when I feel a low coming on what I do is try NOT to fight it. I just feel the feelings but I try to watch it so to speak. I pretend it's a movie I'm watching, kind of....it then seems to dissapate some and then I get out of the house and DO something...anything..usually meet up with a friend or take a walk. I've been reading "The Power of NOW" by Ekhardt Tolle also and his techniques help....try not to think about your feelings, just allow them to come and "watch" them....hope this helps

Wow I heard of that. "Let the feelings come." It does work but you got to get rid of the fear. Is that right?
