After reading your journal I doubt that you will get this response. I am sorry no one responded to you. I was browsing looking for something on West Nile when I saw your post. My husband was one of the few that had about everything wrong with him from West Nile. The only thing that was not affected was his teeth. If you are still around or if anyone else is interested in this topic, please contact me.

I had it in August this year (2008). Confined for 5 days. General malaise; fever; no appetite. Normal MRI - negative for encephalitis . In October 2008, I had my gallbladder removed. I struggle with "cognitive dysfunction" but I'm not sure if it's from the WN Meningitis or from the surgery anesthesia - a fairly common occurrence I hear. I noticed it about a week after the surgery. Not sure if this helps. You can ask me specifics if you like.

I have not had both, but I had viral menengitis in 2001 and it almost killed me. I found out because I had my spleen taken out back in 1976 it left my immune system vulnerable. Anyway, I struggle every day of my life,so I can empathize with you. I wish you good health.
