i recently read this can help with migraines. I have either Meniers or MAV..i cant take migraine meds with caffien b.c it will trigger a dizzy spell. & cant afford relpax....plus i get daily dizzzys, followed by nausea.

i take restoril at nite to help fall asleep (usually 4-6 hrs) so im kinda worried the new med will make me groggy..i hate that feeling~~~

" I'm on it now, for about 2 weeks. The only side effects have been severe dry mouth and throat, and I've gained 7 pounds since I've been on it. I've even cut my diet and upped my running to 5x a week instead of 3, but I keep gaining the weight. "

" @SteelerDaisy

The dirty little secret docs don't tell patients is that most of the time, anti-depressants cause weight gain.

And don't be surprised if after you stop/change the drug, the weight keeps coming.

Heck of a choice; be a healthy weight, or have a life without dizziness. "

" I had been on Celexa 3 years ago and gained 20lbs in about a month. I guess I didn't notice or wasn't paying attention but it just kinda was like "BAM" there it is. I took myself off of it. I expected it to change my weight, but at this rate something's gotta give. And since I'm in the military, this isn't really condusive to maintaining a healthy weight/fitness lifestyle. "

" I have either Meniere's or migraine symptoms (without the migraines) and took nortriptyline after a neurologist finally figured my symptoms out. Nortriptyline worked in the first week and i have no more dizzy spells! The stuff's amazing as far as I am concerned. I have the dry throat too though. I'd rather have that though than be falling over dizzy. "

" I am on the very lowest dosage. Maybe 10mg? Can't remember. It took about 5 days to work and now I have no serious dizzy spells. "

" Well, its been about 7 wks..am taking 20 mg. I am still getting migraines & the dizzy spells are minimal. wondering if i need to "up" the doseage?
I hate the way it makes me feel...tired, acid reflux...just no energy. But i will stick it out till new years.
