Hi,
On August 26,I woke up ,and saw that the room was spinning around and around. I laid still, till the spinning went away. When I went to get up,my legs were so weak, and my balance was off. The weakness in the legs lasted a few hours, the severe dizziness lasted just a few minutes. My balance is much better, but I feel I still am not fully balance. The dizziness I only get when I put my head down on the pillow and turn to the left, after a second I get the dizzy feeling inside of my head..does this make any sense. It last for 1 second, then it goes, and if I turn that way again later on I do not feel it. It just happens once. Does this sound like Meniere's to you I have test to go for next week. Back in april,my neuro did the tilt table test and it came back Bppv, but didn't want me to start any therapy as of yet. I have been notice I've been slurring my words, and my memory,I can't remember a thing. I've had all my life a remarkable memory. Does this sound like Meniere's or could it be Bppv Any reply would be greatly appreciate. Thank you so very much. Posted on 09/25/09, 09:09 pm |

I am not an expert on Meniere's but your symptoms could very well be that. My neuro said that I either have Meniere's or symptoms of migraines without getting the migraines. I was dizzy all of the time and felt sort of out of body. My memory has been getting poorer but I always have attributed that to menopause. Mine was almost totally a balance issue and blurred vision. I am taking nortriptyline which stopped the symptoms within a week. The neuro is going to take me off in 6 months to see if it is better. If it is, then he says it was migraine symptoms, if it is not, Meniere's. Good luck with figuring this out. It is an awful way to live. I hope they give you something that works for you.

Hi, new to the group, just chiming in.
BPPV = Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo I'm too new to Meniere's, only had my first ever drop attack on Aug. 28. If you're having positional troubles, did your doc recommend trying The Epley Maneuver at home? There are how-tos on YouTube. Good luck with whatever it turns out to be.
