Due to recent attacks in the Sex/Pornography Support Group, I'm am fully assured that we need a couple Community Leaders in that group. It's slightly ironic that the individuals attempting to avoid porn have to look at sexually explicit avatars in an attempt to ask for help.
Can we PLEASE appoint a couple CL's to delete offending posts in the future. It is way to easy to abuse this site, and only those on the particular forum daily can efficiently prevent unnecessary forms of abuse. I have been a very active participant on that board for over a year and a half. How can I nominate a couple trustworthy CL's??? Posted on 11/06/09, 10:11 pm |

CLs cannot delete anything. They can only close threads. That is not to say you do not need one or more.
All you can do is request one be recruited by DS in a feedback form. You can also, of course, nominate ... even yourself: www.dailystrength.org/help/feedback Posting in this group is OK too ... for good measure.

Ive seen CL's delete posts.
There should be more of it done. Why is it the nasties get more rights than those they insult, hurt or offend?

CL's cannot delete post, just close them, however when we do close a post, it no longer shows up in the list of current discussion when you click to view the list..

correction, when you click to go into the community, you do not see the closed posts, but when you click on discussions in that community, the closed post will still appear.

I have Adblock on my browser. When I shift click on an avatar, I can cause it to be added to my list of things to block, and I no longer see the avatar!
I am not sure if it blocks ALL avatars that the selected user uses, or just the one that they are displaying when I do the block. It is really hard to have a hard and fast rule for when an avatar is sexually offensive "enough" to ban it. Besides, there are people who love to push limits, and they make it a point to find the line and sit there. With Adblock you get to decide where the line is!

Supposedly, they were going to be accepting applications for CL's in May. Then it was postponed until September. Now it's in limbo.
Our group got 3 in March, but one left immediately and another is never around. That leaves one CL to handle one of the busiest forums on DS. I feel so badly for him. All of us have been complaining for months. Just wanted you to know not to expect any results any time soon.
