DS & Trojan Horses?

For the last two days, Avast has caught a trojan horse associated with DS.

Here's what happened:
I started up firefox.
I went to my online email program.
Just like always, I had several notifications from DS.
Just like always, I clicked on one of the notifications that someone had commented on my journal.
At the same time it took me to the DS sign in page, I got the trojan horse warning.
Avast took care of it & I was able to sign in.
Scanned my computer & everything seems to be ok.

For the rest of both days, I would click on one of my DS notifications & it would take me to DS w/o any trojan horses. It's only happened after the first time both days I open my browser.

Anyone else had this happen?

I had trojan horse twice last wk & thought it was from facebook.Just ran Webroot Spybot,& it's ok.Computer has been mighty slow the last 2 days tho.Also ran Malware Malbytes & nothing-but I suspect something's lurking.

Does anyone know of a free virus program? I'm in a bad position money-wise, and can't afford to buy a program. I had MacAffee, but it expired and I can't afford to renew it. I know there are some free programs out there, but I don't know which are good, and which are useless. Thanks for any help-I had to give up my phone and tv, to the computer is my only means of communicating with anyone.

KS...check this thread.....reply #2 ( I think) from Vet...........there is a free virus scan at the bottom of his reply.

Avast has a free anti-virus. Also Super Anti Spyware is free, as is PC Tools Firewall Plus.

I use all three.
