" Our livers are located on the upper right side of our bodies behind our ribs.

I would have your liver checked.

Everything we put in our mouths goes thru the liver. "

" Hi dizzielizzie. Well I have come across someone else who has pain in the right side under my rib. I had my gallbladder removed by a 10 inch cut under my right rib on the 27th June 2002. I was unable to have it done through the laproscope due to excessive internal scarring. Ever since the gallbladder op,I have had a knife twisting pain with occasional burning which starts under my right rib and radiates around into my back. I have been to a surgeon, pain management and private pain doctors. I recently began seeing a new pain doctor who had an MRI done and it did show an impinged nerve and a bulging disc in my back. I am having a CT Guided Nerve Root Facet Block on the 19th. If this works it will mean it is my back and if not I will need further investigations. But the strange thing is the pain has been present since the open cholysystectomy. I am presently taking Lyrica which is used for nerve pain and it is helping a lot. I also take Oxycontin,Endone and Tramadol or Ultram.I am woken up through the night with the pain and only get a couple of hours sleep each night. The pain has ruined my life and my husband has to do a lot for me as movement and a lot of activities make the pain worse. I am lucky to have support from my wonderful husband. It may not be the same as I have but I just thought it would be worth letting you know. All the best with it "
