Advice:
Bruising and the birth control needle
Watch this
View More Posts Ignore
Hi there.
I'm a 24 year old girl who's been on the birth control needle for over a year and a half now.
I've noticed in the past year or so, that I've been bruising very easily (my boyfriend pinged me once, and it bruised). And when I bruise, its pretty extreme. Awful colours that just aren't normal for me. Very purpley-red, and sometimes going straight to black.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows if there's some sort of connection here. Or should I be looking towards something more medical?
Any ideas?

" i personally think you should come off the BC. this could be serious and you could develop a DVT. (there is a group for DVT if you would like to learn of it) alot of women in that group speak of this on the BC.
in the long run it may also cause pelvic venous congestion syndrome which is vericosities of the pelvis which may also extend down the legs.

im also 24 and have pelvic congestion. how ever im nt a BC user.
i am not meaning to scare you by this post at all. these are just connections i have seen and read about

xx "

" Hi novascoti. I was on the injection last in 1991 and only had the one injection which lasted for 3 months. I only experieced continual bleeding and a bit depressed. I had had it a few years before that, but no real side effects, except for no bleeding and for a further 2 years after stopping. I think I would be looking at other reasons. I have known other women who have been on it,but bruising has never been menioned. Hope you find out what it is "
