pot is a confusing drug. 11 days ago i got super motivated to quit weed permanently (i still hold these ambitions)

based on past experiences, I accepted that the next few months would be rough (i always sink into a depression when i stop smoking)

but.. to my surprise, I was full of life and creative energy. i felt really, really great. no withdrawals other than very strange, intense dreams. felt on top of the world, as they say.

throughout this 11 day period ive been eating healthy, exercising frequently, keeping occupied with various activities, socializing, and, best of all, planning an epic 3 week trip to hawaii.

so everything was fantastic.

and then.... Thursday morning.... I woke up.

everything had changed. the energy? gone. the motivation to do anything? gone. the feelings of hope and excitement toward my new, sober life? gone.

and i thought... 'maybe i just didnt sleep well.' so i crashed early last night. and when i woke up: more of the same.

shooting hoops didnt help. making red snapper tacos didnt help. taking magnesium didnt help. so now, the depression has returned. i am 1000% sure it is a chemical problem, not a situational one. because situationally, everything is great.

so to those who have been sober for long periods of time, when does the depression go away? how long can i expect this to go on?

above all, when will my brain chemistry return to normal?

" You will be on a winning wicket if you are aware of the dangers and pitsfalls of mj at a young age. Many young (and older people) think its just harmless fun, they say "but its only pot" but down the line when you have a partner/wife/children there are always horrible consequences, you only have to log into the codependency group to see how it breaks up marriages and relationships, the stories will bring tears to your eyes. A harmless herb - I think not? "
